Our philosophy is holistic

We believe that our care must address the child and their family’s unique and changing needs throughout the progression of the illness and afterwards

Individualized care plans are developed to ensure consistency and continuity. We include the child and family in the decision-making process to the degree that it is possible and desired by them.   We respect, honour and celebrate all who are in our care and all whom we have known.

Canuck Place's care philosophy is expressed through its programs, services and facilities.

Our on-site school ensures continuity in education; our music, art, play and recreation therapy programs are designed for children of all ages; and our grief and bereavement counselling provides assistance to the entire family throughout the progression of a child’s illness and beyond.
