LUONGO BOLSTERS CANUCK PLACE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
HELPING KIDS EMBRACE LIFE ONE GOAL AT A TIME
Today Canuck Place Children’s Hospice revealed a new public service campaign ‘Embracing Life one goal at a time…’ featuring Canuck(s) goalie Roberto Luongo.
“We are thrilled to have Roberto in our campaign,” said Filomena Nalewajek, Chief Executive Officer of Canuck Place. “The Vancouver Canucks and the Canucks for Kids Fund have been very supportive of our awareness initiatives.”
Luongo, along with 10 year old Jaxson of Victoria are featured playing street hockey in the playground at Canuck Place. Jaxson, a child on the Canuck Place program and a loyal Canuck’s fan, achieves a lifetime goal -- scoring on his favourite goalie in a backyard game.
“What touched me most was his spirit and perseverance,” said Luongo. “Every day Jaxson, like all the children on the Canuck Place program, face incredible challenges,” stated Luongo. “With life threatening illnesses these kids truly do embrace life one goal at a time. I’m proud to support Canuck Place and hope these ads encourage many others to do so as well.”
The ad was created and produced by Insight Film Studios. “Canuck Place makes a difference in the lives of children and families across our province,” explained Kirk Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Insight Film Studios. “Everyone at Insight is proud to lend our knowledge and expertise to help support Canuck Place through this public service campaign.”
“We rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations and organizations to provide our program at no cost to over 350 children with life threatening illnesses and their families throughout British Columbia,” said Nalewajek. “Insight Film Studios and the Vancouver Canucks are longtime partners of ours and we are so grateful for their generosity.”
